User asked a question. I have the HT-Z9F sound bar and rear speakers. Should Sound Modes and Vertical S.
Please answer and elaborate enough that I will know which setting to use for the various source material. It does no good for Sony to develop technologies if the user manuals do not explain in enough depth how to get the best result!
Great question I also have same tv with this sound bar and ps3 for watching Blu ray movies. I use the Dolby Virtualizer mode seems to be most consistent with volume and voice although to hear voices I set to Up 2. I tried the Sound mode settings and I couldn’t tell the difference with any of them. Mostly use with Comcast 4K cable box. Had problems so far this is my 2nd unit soundbar would power on by Itself mostly in the middle of night with first one but it has happened once with current SB.
Also had major issues with Subwoofer and rears cutting out. Seems like it doesn’t like volume around 29 or I think it also can’t handle Bandwidth. I use to stream music with echo dot and when I did a speed test the sound out of the bar would Lower.
Also issue when powering on tv the input in my case doesn’t go to HDMI 1 and stays on TV input in soundbar which is annoying. Not real impressed so far but stuck with it.
Maybe Sony will update the firmware soon? Would I need to turn Dolby Virtualizer off? Would I put [Sound Effect] to Off? Hope this helps. All settings with SB using as you suggested. Audio may skip if there is a device nearby that generates electromagnetic waves, such as a wireless LAN or a microwave oven in use, locate the system apart from it.
