– Install activex windows 10

We have an internal site that uses Active X but no matter what I try, Windows will not allow me to install or run it because it’s not trusted. I have added it to the trusted sites in IE, put all settings for active x to enable, tried compatibility mode but nothing is letting me run it.

One article. As an experiment you could try putting the site in the intranet zone instead of trusted sites. You’ll still need to customize the security level for the intranet zone by enabling downloading of unsigned ActiveX controls, etc.

One other thought: The site is internal, but make sure the ActiveX control actually is downloaded from the internal site and not an external site. Why not run the site in IE mode using Edge?

If I remember correctly, Edge already has ActiveX controls, so you wouldn’t need to install it. All you’d need to do is create an XML with the sites, then run it in a group policy. We did that with SharePoint and it runs beautifully in Edge. IE mode in Edge works well, but will almost certainly still require installing of ActiveX controls like Although it’s possible installing them in Edge could be easier?

At the moment I am having to leave an older version of Chrome running on a backup PC to login and achieve what I need to do, so not ideal I had a flash need and found an older laptop that had not been updated, turned off all services for updates etc. I recall reading if your computer took the no flash Microsoft update you will not get flash to work at all on that machine.

There’s software we bought from a company that they said was only supported in IE, but because of that site, we’re working with them to show that it works in Edge under IE mode. Pretty nifty tool.
